Chris Little
Founding Principal & Chief Executive Officer
Chris Little has more than 15 years of IT industry experience, ranging from Fortune 100 to start-up environments. His passion for solving business problems and creating business opportunities through process and technology improvements inspired him to cultivate a Dominion Digital team that has earned an “A” rating among its clients.
Since co-founding Dominion Digital, Chris has participated in and led the company’s client engagements. He has also been responsible for all the firm’s recruiting as well as a large portion of its business development. Chris has leveraged his commitment to the organizational and cultural aspects of business in recruiting and growing an exceptional team of consultants; Dominion Digital consultants are recognized by clients and the community, not only for their exceptional work product and business contributions, but also for their values, their attitudes, and their professionalism.
Prior to Dominion Digital, Chris worked with Value America, an Internet start-up, as VP of Commerce Applications, and spent four years at GE Fanuc Automation as an SAP implementation specialist, an Oracle database administrator, and a software engineer. While at GE Fanuc, Chris completed GE's Financial Management Program (FMP), an intense two-year, industry-renowned "corporate MBA". It was this program that helped reinforce for him technology’s role as a means to an end, not the end itself.
Over the years, Chris has integrated large enterprise systems such as SAP and Oracle, and has also implemented homegrown start-up IT solutions from scratch, all the time leveraging process and technology to bring about improved distributed information sharing and transactional efficiency. As early as age 14, he developed his first business application: a job-costing software program for a 50-person engineering firm.
In the Fall of 2000, he was invited by Virginia’s Governor to join a week-long trade mission to Ireland and Scotland sponsored by Virginia's Office of the Secretary of Technology. In addition, under Chris’ influence, Dominion Digital won the 2001 Ernst & Young Virginia Entrepreneur of the Year award and, in 2003, was named by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce as one of the commonwealth’s “Fantastic 50” companies.
A native of Ireland and one of 10 children, Chris put himself through undergraduate and graduate studies in the United States with scholarships. He has a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Software Engineering from the University of Scranton. Chris currently resides in Charlottesville, where he is actively involved in community initiatives, among them Computers4kids, Book Buddies, and the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. Chris has also enjoyed participating on panel engagements with the University of Virginia.
