Dominion Digital Announces Community Service Projects to Promote The University of Virginia Children's Medical Center Fundraising Events
For Immediate Release
Dominion Digital announced today its continued commitment to community service by donating more than $100,000 in in-kind and cash donations to community organizations and projects in 2003. One organization Dominion Digital partners with in its pursuit of supporting community programs is The University of Virginia Children's Medical Center. Dominion Digital completed two projects with The UVa Children's Medical Center: the Web site for its "Viva Las Vegas" fundraising event and the Web site for its "22nd Annual Boar's Head Turkey Trot" registration site. Other community projects last year included supporting the Piedmont Regional Science Fair, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, the Charlottesville Junior League and numerous others.
Dominion Digital Senior Consultant Anthony Wenzel spearheaded both projects for The UVa Children's Medical Center and said the project team approached the client with a standard company project approach. "We met with the client to understand the project's goals so our design and technology would ensure a great response from the target audiences," Wenzel said. "Whether to help raise money, to sell tickets, or to provide information, both sites provided an additional element to help The UVa Children's Medical Center meet its goals."
Patrick Belisle, The UVa Children's Medical Center Director of Giving, said Dominion Digital's continued support helps generate interest and awareness for the organization's fundraising events. "We raised more than $15,000 from the annual Turkey Trot event, including $1,000 in contributions directly from the Web site which we had never received before as this online donation ability was a Dominion Digital addition this year," Belisle said. "Everyone loved the Turkey Trot registration site and the Vegas flash site really caused quite a stir of excitement."
Wenzel stated that with both projects, the Dominion Digital team helped its client to expand its event marketing via various Internet technologies. "For the 'Viva Las Vegas' site, we leveraged graphic design elements such as flash animation to build excitement. Our team also created supporting teaser promotional pieces to create awareness for the event."
According to Belisle, "Online efforts help us easily reach younger, more professional audiences. For annual giving and events, Internet marketing is the way of the future as it is so convenient for people."
"Dominion Digital is at the top of my list of web design companies - highest quality design, great customer service, local, and great to work with," Belisle said. "The Dominion Digital team members were responsive, positive, and produce the highest quality work."
Dominion Digital's Chairman and COO Gary Henry said community service is a vital component of the company's corporate culture. "Dominion Digital encourages its team to actively participate in community organizations," Henry said. "Employees can bring forth organizations and projects they are involved in and request the company's and staff support."
Dominion Digital is committed to community involvement in the places where its staff lives. "We feel a strong obligation toward community involvement in our neighborhoods, towns, and regions. We also believe that we can learn and benefit a lot from working closely with other members of our community, especially non-profit organizations," Henry said.
Dominion Digital team members participate at all levels toward an organization's betterment, according to Henry. "We want to be seen as a business that is both responsible and profitable. We take the opportunities for community involvement seriously and provide both time and money to those in need and through our own initiatives," he added.
