Dominion Digital Consultant Shares Lessons on Implementing Agility

For Immediate Release

RICHMOND/CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - October 21, 2005 - Dominion Digital, a regional Business & Technology consulting firm, announced today Mr. Ryan Shriver's invitation to speak at national and international industry conferences. Shriver, a Managing Consultant with the firm and a thought leader in the fields of software engineering and technology consulting, has been invited to share lessons on the Agile Software Development methodology at two leading industry conferences: the Agile Business Conference in London and the Northern Virginia Software Symposium.

Shriver's presentation on Scaling Agility covers specific principles and practices for implementing an Agile process for teams working on large-scale, complex software projects. Throughout the presentation he references direct real-world experience with implementing these practices. Scaling Agility explains how Agile development methods can scale to meet the demands of enterprise projects, provided certain practices are adapted.

"We are all very proud of Ryan," says Chris Little, Dominion Digital Founder and CEO. "His passion for software engineering along with delivering tangible business results has him constantly exploring means to deliver software to our clients better, faster and cheaper." This is consistent with the firm’s consulting philosophy and commitments to its clients. Dominion Digital is hiring and growing many pragmatic thought leaders such as Shriver, with other consultants at the firm scheduled to publish and present on industry topics in the near future.

There's no substitute for experience," says Shriver. "While leading a large Agile project for the past two years, we've discovered techniques that can ensure Agile methods deliver business results, even on the most challenging projects. As more companies are looking for faster returns on their IT investments, I expect Agile’s results-focused methods will continue to gain momentum." Shriver and Little both agree that while Agile is a robust methodology based on sound principles, it is not a silver bullet. Success remains contingent upon experienced qualified professionals using keen judgment in alignment with business objectives and quantifiable business results.

Dominion Digital's value to its clients embraces the combination of process and technology expertise, along with pragmatic hands-on project management and execution. The firm's highly experienced teams engage with each client to understand and articulate clear business objectives. They then collaborate with the client on designing process and technology solutions, and implement these solutions all the way through completion. The firm believes the core principles of Agile (see: http://agilemanifesto.org/) apply in concept to all consulting engagements, not just software projects.
